The first day of our three day trip to see Iguazu Falls was spent in Argentina at the Parque Nacional Iguazu.

This gallery is from the second day when the tour company took us across the border into Brazil or "Brasil" to the locals.

We purchased our travel visas in Miami ahead of time for $100 per person at the Brazilian embassy. It seems like a lot for just one day in the country, but the visa is good for "1,825 dias" (5 years).

On the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls, you can get really close to the rushing waters. Conversely, the Brazilian side of "Foz do Iguacu" offers an amazing panoramic view of the 275 falls.

The bus trip from our hotel, Hotel Saint George in Puerto Iguazu, over the border to Foz do Iguacu took about an hour including the short delay at the customs and immigration checkpoint.

Besides the falls, Iguacu National Park also features five different kinds of forest bio systems and is home to endangered species like the giant anteater and the giant otter. We saw a variety of lizards and also a colorful hummingbird during our visit to the park.

Adventerous people can try rafting on the river or rappelling down a rock cliff while admiring Iguacu Falls. These activities, of course, cost an extra fee in addition to the park's entrance fee.

During our visit to Iguacu National Park, I captured a few short video clips with my Canon S3 IS digital camera along with these several hundred pictures. I edited the video clips together into a short movie that gives you a great sense of the sights and sounds of Iguazu Falls. To "stream" or view the video, left click on the blue link below. To download the video to your hard drive, right click on the link and choose "Save Target As" or "Save Link As". The video is encoded in the WMV (Windows Media Video) format, runs about four minutes long, and has a file size of 66 megabytes.
